i think i want to have a go at kiddies wear...

the more i think about it the more i want to...
i have always liked doing menswear because i like the more practical approach, multi functional, appealing to male geekier side, and above all comfortable, practical, technical, fabric-allly interesting clothing.
Womenswear has never appealed to me, boring, all aesthetic, women will wear anything even if it hurts, pinches etc to do so. for example high heels, the entire concept/practicality baffles me.

id never thought of it until sue pointed it out in a crit but kidswear is practical, it has to be clever, interactive, highly practical ie mess, technical fabrics for sensitive skin/stains/breathable, but above all it has this fun sort of exciting aesthetic element with bright colour and patterns, open to collabortative projects with my graphics friends for fun logo's full of colour and interest...

im intrigued!

Third year Begins.

Fist week or so back, its all a bit scary, everything is going so fast its a bit daunting.
Already ive forgotten how to pattern cut and im trying to remember before tuesday! Im excited to get on with my project, i love my research and i think my concept is strong. After Sues much needed feedback on tuesday, which was all what we needed, a good kick up the arse, i realise my presentation and professionalism on this course needs a massive re think and transforming...this is what i need to work on.
i think i need to re focus everything and what i want to do and just get on with it...
i am continuing with my anatomy/global warming/menswear/camping/techno fabric/sportswear themes...just trying to combine them all into one exciting idea...

neglect!

whoops, this will be a very muddled blog now, i always forget to update my posts on a regular basis.

im not sure what exactly to start with.

Maybe a General one...

The last few months have been mental. With the eventual culmination of business and critical studies coming to an end, i feel a bit more relaxed which is not a good thing when i have to finish the final push of ppd and research practices.

I dont like the ppd side especially, it scares me, i dont have a clue what i want to do because i dont really want to work in fashion directly.
talking and thinking about the future just stresses me out its too scary.
i have been doing work experience with steve banks at paper scissor stone but i want to wait until i have a more experienced portfolio next year to apply for work experience or a placement with firstly aitor throup and stone island.

i feel really unpassionate at the minute, i am so excited for next year and being able to form a collection where you follow the entire process of concept to finished garment. i miss pattern cutting , iover the summer i plan to make an entire range of coats, for men and women to sell in the winter i will need the money for my final collection!

i intend to update all my projects and photos of all my work, with my final portfolio.
